Hi, my name is Emma and I created From Frances in 2022 after a horrible experience with a shop bought candle.

I was heavily pregnant at the time and I had lit a cheap candle - for only a couple of hours before bed (If like me you are obsessed with candles, my whole house was covered in these candles!)

The next morning I woke up with black soot around my nose and I noticed black smoke residue around my window frames. I panicked and thought I'd had a house fire! But then I noticed the candle jar which was completely black and realised it was the smoke from the candle the night before.

I did some research and realised I had been burning a paraffin wax candle - which is the most common wax used for candles, especially the popular big candle brands. Paraffin wax, combined with bad quality wicks, synthetic scents and perfumes can have similar effects as second hand smoke. They can cause all sorts of health issues, so I vowed never to burn a paraffin wax candle again.

I wanted to create 100% natural, cruelty free, eco friendly and non-toxic candles. Safe to burn around your precious loved ones. I hand pour my candles in small batches of 8 to ensure perfection and to maintain the highest level of quality in each product for you.
